 During the heady days of late 19th century Paris, Absinthe was the trademark drink of artists like Degas, Manet, Picasso, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec and Oscar Wilde. To celebrate this infamous connection of Absinthe and art, Crillon Importers introduces the stunning Artist's Series Gift Box collection for Absente, Absinthe Refined, featuring award winning graphics from renowned contemporary artists Romero Britto ("Happy Cat"), Ron English ("3 Heads" and "Genius") and Sylvain Copon ("Green Fairy").Each of these four stunning gift boxes contains an original Absente, Absinthe Refined graphic, a 750 ml bottle of Absente, Absinthe Refined and unique complimentary Absinthe slotted spoon fastened to the outside of the box. To create a spectacular presence for all to admire, simply place three boxes side-by-side to display the full art image and unique Absinthe spoon. All told, there are four unique graphics designed by some of today's contemporary artists and four unique absinthe spoons mimicking some of the popular designs from la belle époque era. How did we bring Absinthe back? Absente, Absinthe Refined, is a modern version of the original Absinthe recipe. The only difference is we replaced the banned botanical Wormwood, with a less bitter cousin, Southern Wormwood, also known as "Petite Absinthe." This allows us to recall the glamour of nineteenth century Paris and offer Absente, Absinthe Refined in the United States. Much of the romance of Absinthe was in the preparation ritual. To recapture the charm of the traditional preparation today, simply follow the illustration below. Remember, Absente, Absinthe Refined is 110 proof, so beware of the Green Fairy!
