*Serving Aquavit:*
An Aquavit is normally served ice cold and with a beer chaser. Drinking Instructions -- *Here is the traditional way to drink aquavit in Scandinavia:* Hold up glass at 2nd shirt button level. Look everyone at the table/bar you are drinking with in the eye, toast "Skól" and drink it down in one gulp. Then resume the position with empty glass at 2nd button, looking at everyone again. Then everyone puts the empty glass down.
Matching Aquavit with Food -- Aquavit is preferably served cold and frosty with tasty food: O.P. Anderson: Serve with spare ribs or barbeque chicken; grilled duck or strong cheese. This most popular Swedish aquavit is the perfect accompaniment to salmon!
